My family is what I would call an international family. My mother is American and lives there now. My father lives in the Middle East but his family is based in Wales. My step-siblings live in Africa, I've got a few great aunts in Sicily and Australia... and I live in Brighton. It can all get a bit hectic and more often than not catching up with family means meeting up at a halfway point rather than going back 'home'. To be honest, at this stage, I don't even know where that would be. Anyway, my lovely mother ended up this side of the water last week so we took the opportunity to meet up for a long weekend. Destination: Italy.

Technically we were based in Milan, although we didn't end up spending very much time there. We took a day trip to Florence and another to Bergamo. Now, some people go to Italy for the architecture, some go for the art, some go for the shopping... but me? I go for the food... without a doubt. I ate my way through those 3 days and have probably come home 4 stone heavier. But oh my god was it was worth it. In between meals I did manage to document some of the trip (something I am working on) so I thought I'd share a few snaps with you. I hope you enjoy!

Sadly, after many pastas, cheeses and gelatos I'm home and back to the daily grind. I have a feeling it will be a long while before I head off on any more adventures- but these three days have got me covered for the time being. They really were amazing!

Let me know if you've been anywhere recently or your favourite destinations!  I always love adding new places to the wish list.
